SPIES

at night i stretch out
like a corpse on acid
in the great shadow blocks
of an expressive & eclectic dark

waiting for dawn to arrive
pocket sized
yellow & blue

~

&
i am hiding with the spies
in the back streets of venice
&
i am hiding with the spies
in the books i hear too

BIRDS & THE MOON

the moon is
a neurodivergent godlet

& they scoop the tides
in a regular rhythm

hanging there self evident
in the blue sky & the black

no matter the
boot prints
we trod into their face

& i nod to them
& i salute them

like i do with
the yelling magpies

& the murdered pigeon
i buried in our gardens

burgeoning animal

THE FIRDAY NIGHT BOOKSHOP OF THE MIND

in the friday night
bookshop of the mind
the oversoul
does a reading
just for me
when i am stretched out
debased on the sofas throw

~

& these poems
out the ether

well i can let them go
like throwing back a fish

my hands must remember
they dont need to always
stain the paper blue

ABOUT THE SKY #1

blue skies - a palette cleanse
in
the
chaos of context tombola

i stand under its painted dust
transfixed like a bug
& think & think
& stop that
& be

its a powerful balm
for the evident weight
of a thinking soul

GONE GREYSCALE & COOL

heavy loss when

the orange & saffron
electric blue
starburst sunset
streaking like a laser show
over six miles
of vanishing point
water & waves

is over

the candy floss clouds
gone greyscale & cool

AUTUMN ON THE NEXT PAGE 1

i want it
always spring

warm & new
winter
unglued

i want my
flip flops
flip flapping
in
a
light fun tumble
of
inconsequential rain

with autumn on the next page

&
a
mindfulness
that cannot
turn blue

SINCE THE VOICES I HEARD

my
passenger seat
blue moonface
dead gazes at
the time-slip ebay clocks
ticking ticking ticking
relentless & showing

how
long
its
been
since the voices i heard
over my shoulder
when we were hanging
gaming & green blowing

were
meatworld
here

raw nerve slaying
burr edge dulling

our
bad run
warm rum

COLD WAR TROUBLE DOCTOR

like a spy
i wonder
in the early mornings
parallel dilemma

why is ?
why is ?
& when ?

then i make coffee
& drink down
my human disguise

now
giant & hellbent & livid
i turn blue
&
file my report

a trouble doctor
in
this

a war so cold
its arson

REPORTS

the
filed
reports
come in
too frequently
these days

they have their own ideas now
and become directives

i am kept on my toes
unclogging
my
aging
filters

~

and my piss turned grey like slate
like paint water
or
rain running off wet clay

and i worry i may be full of
only red now

and cool veiny blue

~

and
away from the wasted gains
and
away from the gainers gaze

i am pale and shaved
in the gardens green phantasm

nylon and glass
between its bark twists

an escapee washed up on fertile banks
with
disease
the
price
of
freedom

ITS TUESDAY (MORNINGS AND DREAMS)

MONDAY MORNING

monday morning always tastes of monday morning
when the bedside siren calls time on oblivion
and my dreams turn b&w in the neon smack of day
and struggling to understand i lock them away

and they wait
on a crack
in the light

between responsibility and habit
to run their mad riot again

COFFEE AND JUICE

monday morning tastes like that metallic burr of strong medication
even
tho
we
are
off
and
laying in
with no vet panic or auto repair for a change

a subsonic bell rings a slice of loss
without time to be noticed

before coffee
and juice
obscure with floods

animal sense and the residual derelict party of dreams

WEEKEND

mondays barcode is smudged

my mind bleeps NO like a posties machine
in consecutive failure to understand

after
saturdays free tease

and
sundays broadmoor

    exercise yard

      blue
      chug

RIP FLY 2

dead
fly
by
the
bog

still as a mortuary photo
or
crime scene file pic

black
shining silver
bottle green-blue

pretty
in natures brutal
easy-to-miss way

maybe
he
escaped a UKIP house
to
die
on
the
floor
of
my liberal fantasy

he would deserve
some kind of toast
for
that

and this poem
will

POPTARDS / POPTARTS / JR WORD SLAGAMUFFINS ( NOTEBOOK CLEAR OUT )

1. NOT MY TURN TODAY

  like
  me
the bath is 100% water
with
a
tower of bubble-head foam
            empty
            and
            beautiful
            whirling in a swirl-circle
the way the milky way does
and
the cat is calm
           cool
           curious
watching with wide eyes
  and
  the
jazz dances by itself
  out
  in
  the
  kitchen

and
today Everyone Else
can
fret stress worry
about
Our World Earth

            its plastic
                8th
                continent
            its bombs-runners
                on the
                french
                wire
              and
            the
  looming doom of weather

instead
of
me

2. POMETRY TALKING

i write a pome again

write
what
i
call
a
poem

and it tells me
that
i
am
doing
ok

3.  LOOK HARD FOR THE SILVER LINE

the first casualty of sickness
is
cash

others follow

but none better be your S.O.H.

cos really
nothing is funnier -

illness
is
a faulty meat pie

4. DAGENHAM RELIGION

headphones on -
a Pixies rallying call
and
the sky is HUGE again
        is more than god
        is brushed with
                   softest
                   white
                   over
              baby blue

my hand rests on an opened book

out here
        is a window
                   to behind Things

             invisible
             wind
             breaths
             on
             my
             naked
             feet

and i dont dance or even get up
but
soon
i
might walk slowly about the lawn

    with my

            arms
            out

            like a plane

LAST SUMMER TRIO

1.

birds bleep
update alerts

sounds like that anyway
to
my
zoned-off
half-mind
on-the-nod
stretched
out
on
the
patio
recliner
eyes shut and everything is blue

2.

uncooked oven fry

a single yellow chip
who tumbled
into accidental segregation

speaks
more
than
words
from the
dusk light
kitchen floor

3.

grateful for the garden

tucked pocket of english green

mad sprouts
and
knowing bark
is
fairy-tale impossible and mountain dignified
under
wi-fi
skies

SKY AND CLOUDS

sky

shall i ask you again ?

is your untrue blue
all
you
have
after
all this time ?

and

you do realise its the clouds
that do all the work ?

(without them you are teal A4)

anyway

thank you for the show
