when these films come on

these classics of war and outlaws

when i'd find them just started 
then
something
would
click
and i'd do a fast booze count

and more often than not

i'd be in the bottle shop in the first ad break
getting the scotch in

and some big papers and maybe a snack or two

then back in 
i'd check out the charms of the bathroom cabinet

then i'd bunker down on the sofa
pad
on
my
knee

and get so loaded watching these classics

of science and camaraderie and dystopia

that my heart would bleed out my eyes
and my eyes burn down my cheeks

and

think
