THE GREYSCALE LEAVES, FRAG POPS

under the same sky
where warplanes fly
i walk the pale dawn
agog & grounded
kicking the greyscale leaves

~

its a terrible wonderful world
& we are safe we think
on the western islands
in our bells of mist

~

now the fire in my knees
is extinguished
by wading thru
the soup
in the hall

a trail like smudged pencil
i imagine as my wake

REBAR

ACCELERATED ELECTRIC HEAD

within minutes
no seconds
of waking

i have diagnosed myself
with 7 rare disorders
& held the floor at 3 wakes

fought a policeman
& stopped a war

killed a murderer
& snubbed a king

all in my accelerated electric head

& it dies down some with coffee

~

like things on a microscope slide
oily shimmering rainbows
strobe in my pov margins

& a chad of light is displaced
by a black hole punched
into the centre pane

& everything & anything
i do / manage / achieve

this morning
this afternoon
all week

is herculean heroism
in my viddy newsflash

EMPTY AS A TYRE IS EMPTY

theres a moment after we wake

a glimpse out of time
empty as a tyre is empty

before we remember It All

& the day
never does
recover

from this absence
we had
no chance
to prod

OSMOSIS BUFFET VOL 4

  &
the dreams interface
with nightmare residue

i wake / dont know who i am

reality is a bad hat

i escape

out the fish market exits
of the veil in-between

  &
the nightmares interlink
with dreams glue & sand

reality is a top hat / a crown

on
all
heads

but mine

BLOODY DISCHARGE

disaster
capitalisms
compulsive
obsessive
seek & destroy
consumption
addiction
ignores its back-end discharge

i see the horror wake
creep up past its knees

bling in the liberty learjet
filched by a dentist
from a childs smuggling mouth

LONDON DREAM

a london place
  recurs
  in dreams -

all its tourist places
all its famous places
stand in a single
convenient
accessible
postcard row

everybody is living

in one single
immense
condensed
block of concrete flats

~

& it is a dark town

its bad fingers beckoning
across the slum pub bridges

across
the
red bus
orange gravel
parade square

~

my shortcut home
everytime is always
down on the tube tracks

me & the commuters down there
the rats down at our feet

the
trains
closing
in

ominous & scream-loud

~

i wake up
still down there

in danger

in trouble
down there

in the dark
down there

in recurring london dreams

WHEN DID THE FUTURE HAPPEN

THREE POTATOES

once upon a grey parade morning
i
left
the
house
and
muddled out into the sportswear wake

i bought three loose potatoes
from
a
machine
where a person used to be

it asked too many questions
and
made
me
feel
inferior
to be organic and alive

but
it didnt file its nails
or
take notice
of
the
verbal abuse

and
i
'paid'
the
machine
with
an uncertain slap of celluloid
that
could
have
been
anyones

wondering when the future happened ?

HARMONY PLUG AND PLAY

i left thinking machine or person ?

i left thinking
we should grow
our own potatoes

but
everyones laying
astroturf now

round
their
harmony
plug & play
hot tubs

I AM PERSON TOO

once upon a back indoors and safe
i
saved
my
misanthropy
for
the sealed sunset
and
i
said
bravely and aloud

i would rather person
than machine
because i am person too

and
i
could
have
leant them a book about the modern world
refuse a bag
and tell them they are their own god

or
just
leave
a
smile
for
them
in
their watery abattoir eyes
dull with breeding
and sublet hope

or ask them
if they knew
when the future happened ?

DEATHS EMPTY YAWN

and
after
it
all
there is space made

like an empty yawn

for another
wet sacks
plastic kipple

~

this empty yawn
gasps into the cosmos

this empty yawn
is
stuffed with hamburger
and
strange rubbery cheese
made
in
a
factory sized
chemistry set
somewhere
up
north

~

this empty yawn
is
flooded
with
instinct & new blood

a mystery use by date

and
dna betrayal

patched over
by times

new day
same day

relentless & assassinating

updates

~

this empty yawn

makes you
yawn too

and you see
those gone remain

for a time

in the nebulous hallway scent
of
dateless
deja vu

~

this empty yawn
dries
stops
dies

the
moment
you leave
the wake

you sit in the car
and its too normal

youre in confusion
feeling
unresolved
and
full of carbs

~

this empty yawn
leaves old codes
in unconscious crafty placement

and surprise
bursts in your heart

at
old coins & stopped watches
in
kitchen drawers

at
bus tickets & jotted notes
of
1950s mileage
used
as
markers
in
dusty
unthrown
hardbacks

but
only for
the
first time around
