ENTROPY BEIGE

the
urge
itch
& need
to
make something be here
that wasnt here before

is unexplainable
to anyone
who never looks at the sky

~

i makes a mess on another canvas
in the morning breeze & sun
scraping the thick colours around
& covering up again
the layers of form
the layers of chaos
into a thick
smear & pebbling
of summer bugs & entropy beige

OFFCUT POSEY No 10

the absolute morning of the workplace

the medieval rack of it -

its keys & cups
& trucks & cogs
corralled just so
bright but dull too
& loaded with overthought precision

only just this side of chaos

yes even the dust -
especially the dust

~

its too much world
&
pooh sticks race
under the trouble bridge
in
pink floyd of the mind

A NECESSARY FORT

morning me
will thank
last night me
for the chores
he did compel

& it is not pitiful
to fool & manufacture
such miniature peace
in the face of chaos
flaky meat puppetry

as clutter
is often
anxiety now

when it used to be
a necessary fort

REVERSED UP COMPASSION DRIVE

the permutation
of the word narrative
he said
has an agenda
that chaos wont stand

dont they know reasons are not answers ?

just enjoy the air
i told him
its fresh like a clean blade
& clipped just so

i think youve
reversed
up compassion drive
he said to me shaking his head
when you missed
the deathville turnoff

i
hope
at
least
you grabbed something good to read
at the junction multimart station ?

THE BLESSINGS ABACUS

full time
struggle pup
half wishes
for ignorance

half wishes
but

also
holds close

the
neon demon knowing

~

full time
struggle pup
prevails & survives

with
slow
deliberate
monk like
garden
patrol

full time
struggle pup-

well
his blessings abacus
got the paint worn off

~

today
theres
minimalist
birdsong
infrequent

birds are
disruption scattered

& slow to the call

today

~

there is
a gentle chaos
in dawns
sly function creep

the wind blows
the wifi away
&
the overfarmed
magnetic field
tumbles
lost
minibeasts
into
my
anxious paw

& my blessings abacus-

well
its got the paint wearing off

WESTERN PRIVILEGE

something
pins
the
quiet avenues down / paints them like Trumpton

something keeps the chaos
 out
 the
 consensus cul-de-sacs
keeps our Blue Velvet picket fences
 clean
 and
 Stepford

 despite the planned collateral
of
conceit / bombs / flags

POETS ! 2

poets !

do you mow that lawn ?
or
lay on it
and
wallow weakly in its
tiny
forests
wondering
if
you
can face the metallic smell and cobwebs
of
the
dark
inhabited
shed
where the mower - LEVIATHAN - waits dusty and heavy ?

do you
just lay abandoned in its tall wands
and
fuzzball meadows
watching
its
citizens
pace and parade
and
try to forget
the
angry row the mower would yell ?

if it would start anyway . . .

and wheres the grass catcher ?

and the petrol can ?

and
who
are
you
anyway
to cull this lush microcosm
this
thick
gifted
apron - natures deep pile home ?

dont worry about it -
it
will
get
mowed
another day
when
your
head
is squarer
and
the
chaos
needs a fight

LIVING JISM

you wear your damage like a badge
you
wave
some
ancient
event
like a battle banner

when you did this / did that
that time at
band camp - whatever

when you nearly died / when you nearly lived
stuck
like
a polished shield / a war medal
on
a dead rock face
justifying
your
empty
boots
and dull life

youre
just like us all - living jism
helpless
and
all day waiting
for
the sweetness of laying the used bones down at night

but
you cant accept your bland position in the chaos
in
the working mush
and the city mould

thats
all

city of the bread from thedailymail

RAMPAGING CHAOS BEHIND THICK GLASS

exhaustions anxious opiate
is
blinkered zencalm
and
quiet
lurking horrorfilm unease
in
a
toobright toogloomy
world
of
slow slog
and
muffled toweldamp claustrophobia
where
mudmarching days
are
reread paperback pages
of
forgottenwho names
and
obscure and inexplicable action
