due to the unprevented
preventable dooms
i present again here
a kind of antidote
i call small town fluff

the cat hides again
behind the bedroom curtain again
from the men working
over the road
on the rooves
i tell him he is safe
& that the men are only
involved in essential maintenance
of exactly the kind of structure
he sleeps in safe & warm
he looks at me with disappointment
& good lord man i say
i am doing the best i can
& i get him
spray can cream
on our very best saucer
& the suns out
& its spring
& it all looks kinda twee out there
& its lunch time very soon
