TURDS AND DOORS

'RHYMING POETRY SHOWS THE AUTHOR
HAS PUT THAT EXTRA BIT OF EFFORT IT'
                      Alan Partridge

now all them poems what rhyme
give out the concrete expectation
that every second line must rhyme
and never without any exception

and them poems what got rigid rhythm
are vulnerable to dull prediction
and they hook their childish claws
deep into my free verse addiction

TURDS AND DOORS

so i close my eyes
against such hard light

but that kaleidoscope
inside my downtime eye
morphs
the space scape
into
a
soap opera

and even ad breaks

so i play a vision of a land of green bridges
across
my
rat maze mind

to stop
the turds
outnumbering
the doors

PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE (DENNIS WILSON)

so i listen to

pacific ocean blue

come & go

like
a
tide

like night
like rain

like a dream

like rock royalty
in 70s LA

its an offering to nature

to cover up
in beauty
our
panic & static

our flushing carbon rush

& our urge
for another love affair
with
another plastic anything

we will break and bury

STEWART LEE

dear stewart lee

i love your stand up

your bit on your granddad and his crisps
well
i cant find it to not be genius

and i spotted your writing credits
rolling modestly at the end of those
untouchable satire shows

so stewart lee
you can sleep easy i hope
you have done more than your share

kind regards

fd

ps
that billy bragg album
DOES have a fantastic guitar sound
