INTO PLAYGROUND LEGEND

his big-boat trainers
& market traders leather coat
dwarfed his premature body
& shrunken walnut head

& when he swore he swore
in a vicious spitting bark
that escalated & enhanced
the words to defcon 1

we talked his swearing up
into playground legend
but it hinted at an anger
sourced where
no one asked

NIGHT SHIFT POP

was
a
white night shadow
burning stubby blunts
under the weak starshine

writing pops with a work pen

in a borrowed well stolen pad
waiting for the milk train
almost running just for me

~

empty seats

trainers up
bag-warm beer

early mist

a fantasy-scape
over
fishing lake mirrors
&
the
green green green
estuary
jungle

~

my reflection

is like
by an
impressionist
&
i brace for it
brace for dawns
brotherhood to fade

hoping sleep will take me

before
noon
in the crashbang of day

BEDROOM LANDS 4

RIZLA

same smell
of MFI MDF

same stolen
brown laminate
canteen trays

but

different

rainbow of rizla

CIGARETTES

with six
types of weed

i would cry
accidentally on speed

its
more damn cigarettes
i need

ADIDAS

all
the
reformed monsters
got
the
same
denim
on

subpop shirts

competing rubber-toe adidas
ripcurl
on
coiled
cable
carpet

CABLES

snake atrophy

twist like art
to
vhs and crt

and back-of-a-lorry
monitor audio cones

plastic rivers
thru
the
kipple crumbs and carcinogens
of
one-room
living

SHOE RULES

smell-
different washing machine protocol

different shoe rules
differently observed

same mellow smoke billow
hugs same artex

same hot rocks
puncture different pillow

same empties
ashtary sentries
on the floor

HIGH

and
my
face was weird
in
the
watermark mirrors
of
different bathrooms
different light

wasted and drained

pale and bombastic

high

PARKPATH WORLD TO THE CAFE

all i hear is
my
discount
trainers
making soft taps
on
the split tarmac

early PM

brown leaves tumblefloat on ghostwind

the A road
is a
hum
more imagined than heard
like
the future
or
like
approaching progress
invisible
beyond
browngreen horizons

and
when the phone
in
my
pocket
buzzes its muted rumble
the
parkpath world to the cafe
suddenly
appears
a
relic
from
a
longgone time
