hijacked my slumber

well the room is there

like a flat tires

rhythmic exhaling

& death is there

its back pages

condensed & lucent

in

a

twelve minute

drive thru

crematorium

&

the thin smoke of bones

is

forgetting itself

&

dissolving in glyphs

up there

in the grey bluebird sky

and a vans sliding door slams

theres always a vans sliding door
being
slammed

inside my closed eyes
theres a kaleidoscope effect

i note it is kind of cheap

like in an old
sci fi tv show
to indicate time travel
or a warp drive

and it floods slowly with black
like an inkblot
like a stormhead
or comic book doom

there is something 
luxurious about it

and i notice it
and i let it slide
without the panic it asks for

mindful in the pm heat
plastic zen in noons hinterland
