the lemony steam
a damp paper towel

brown sauce surfing
on the melting gold

& nurses comment incredulous
hungry & jealous & smoking

superkings out the fire door

on a monday morning in may

SHRINKING BUFFER SHRANK ALL THE WAY

shrinking buffer

shrank all the way

& here it is

difficult difficult lemon difficult

& too well machined

& workplace walls

quiet rumbles in place
air tastes-

chilled empty

smells of school mornings
smells of almost happiness

i'd
take
out 
crusts for the birds before breakfast 
careful on cement path -
