the cool night
& hobo dawn
prest a promise
the day mulls on

& in comes the naos of august

petrol spilt

on the services

yellow grid

concrete sea

then gulls cry in the ratine blue

now motorboats smoke their diesel

& we take lunch
in foil & in tupperware
to the beach

jellyfish & seaweed

tangled like warriors

in the wormholed sand

SCHOOL DAZE

the school boy
gave the thin kid
foil wrapped flour
as a riff
on his junkie appearance

but
was mocked
for his trainers
that fastened
with velcro

round the music room corner
at the end of lunch
years ago

FOIL TOPPED GLASS, A SCHOOL POP

dropped off

      for morning break

from the dairy

      down the road

in red & rattling

      plastic crates

with farm dirt 

      on the bottles rim

& snail trails 

      round their base

was  full fat  sun warm  awful  milk
