DOWN ON COBWEB LANE

i felt like
i got
the hang of it

for one bastard half-second

i felt like
i knew
the way of it

for one tease-clock-tick blim

~

i am
talking
about

the resonance & vibration
of the reason & the rhyme

& it has no words
& it has no instruction

i saw that much

i saw Something

for a fucking change

~

then back
to the arcade murk

cobwebs clinging
in the sweat of my face
down on cobweb lane

A MONDAY MORNING IN THE WORLD

1. DIDN'T DIE AGAIN

everything
is an
ugly pile
to
retarded morning eyes

we did not die
in the nights
short dark surrender

a day is reissued
from
out the
backlog queue

2. HICCUPS

left arm aloft
and
three pints of water
makes
me
sick

water
comes up
still cold

i disgust me

hiccups gone

3. FILIGREE SARCOPHAGI

i sit with the toilet

lid up

not knowing what to do

so we reminisce

good times & bad times

waiting
for dawns
brief heaven
to
light
the
cobwebs into filigree

and the bath
into
sarcophagi

GARDEN

stretched out on a garden chair

beautiful

theres flowers

beautiful

its real
i like it

nature talks quiet and mostly nods
and
a
million
small
animals
offer no judgement

stretch out here in the late PM
book on my lap
i'm tied in a towel from an
Epsom salt bath

low sun
shows up
all the old spiders webs
waving and sagging across
the
60 year old orange brick
of
the
house

i hear her inside
and know she'll come to the back step soon
smiling
and
pretty

so i sit with the nodding nature and the animals - mostly quiet
sipping
luke-warm
coffee
waiting
for pretty

and
a
smile
