MINUTIA

a week
is the systematic emptying

of two plastic dosettes

& 

the church bells ringing
on a friday evening too soon

once i had committed 

to putting out the washing

i was anxiously watching 

the clouds for signs of rain

& i was reassured 

as much by their steady march east

as i was worried 

by their deep bruised hue
