GRAFFITI ON THE BLINKERS (FOUR)

1. MEAT LOGARITHMS

unspecial Meat Logarithms
eyes dull from blue light
arsenic and preservatives
  watch
  from
  the
supermarket magazine sidelines
  and
mutter small words and Chinese rumours
  into
weak evening beer
  and
frozen tv dinners
  misunderstanding
  even
  the
  prisms and shadows
    of
red-top hilarity - the graffiti on the blinkers
    their
  only source of information
    of
  their willfully small
    waiting-on-a-lottery-win world

2. MYTHICAL TRIGONOMETRY

the
mythical rich are only people
  but
  they wear double-breasted Bomb-Coats
    international lawyers
    camping in the glove box
      of
      their
      blood red sports coupes

they bark more myths -
      oh
      how
    PURE
      it is to be
    POOR

and
they
sleep deep
sedated by system and birth-rite
and
stockpile debt in electric vineyards
    the
    grapes of seedless foreclosure

3. SUBTRACTION PIES

  we
  will
  all
loose when the rain never stops
  and
struggling hilltop crops are dug up rotten
  with
  soft
  office
  hands

4. CAT PLUS

i
am
  a corned-beef equation - spam sums
sick
already - over processed
  and
at home all day
  scribbling
  fruitless
  thoughts
  behind pretty walls
my face buried in the soft fur of the cats napping back
like
he's
a deity
his faux wise sleepy eyes brim with unknowable answers

(Ford,
he seems to say,
dont forget charities and nurses and teenage paramedics
and all the daily unnoticed compassion's . . .)

he
sits
possession-less
calm
and
still
and
effortlessly folded

not
worried
about
tomorrow
at
all
